Data Science | Machine Learning | Deep Learning | Natural Language Processing | Software Engineering

I am currently a final year student at University of Rwanda pursuing Msc. in Data Science with specialization in Data Mining. I apply tools in AI to help solve real world problems in Africa. Primarily my focus is in the media, healthcare and agriculture domains.
My research interests in data science lies in the areas of both Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing (NLP). In the context of NLP, I am currently working on interpretable models for fake news detection advised by Dr. Weiwei Pan from Harvard University and Dr. Melanie F. Pradier from Microsoft Research.
I am quite enthusiastic about learning new and emerging technologies, and always look for something new to try out. I am a team player and always look for result oriented work.

Research Intern, Data Science

Harvard University

January 2021– Date Nairobi, Kenya - Remote
Research on interpretable models for fake news detections. My research is focused on the development of interpretable machine learning algorithms to address the problem of public trust on existing fake news detection mechanism. I am developing a reliable technique of explaining fake news predictions. This project is part of my long term goal of bringing machine learning models closer to human by improving their transparency.
